FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ITAVFoundation and Prime Legacy Security Partner to Host Free Women’s Personal Safety Event in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PA — ITAVFoundation, in partnership with Prime Legacy Security, is proud to present “Let’s Talk: Women’s Personal Safety: Awareness, Avoidance & Decision Making,” a free community event designed to educate, inform, and support women through practical personal safety education and meaningful conversation.
The event will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at MQFactory | Ricky Codio Studio, located at 126 Leverington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Women’s safety continues to be an important issue affecting families and communities across the country. According to the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Domestic Violence Strategies, one in three women in the United States will experience domestic violence during their lifetime, and nearly one in four Philadelphia residents reports having been personally affected by domestic violence or knowing someone who has. These realities highlight the need for accessible education, prevention, and community support.
“Personal safety begins long before an emergency occurs,” said Trudean Haye, Founder and CEO of ITAVFoundation. “Knowledge, awareness, and informed decision making can make a meaningful difference in how women recognize risks, respond to situations, and protect themselves and their families. This event is about creating a space where women can learn, ask questions, and leave feeling more informed and connected to valuable community resources.”
Unlike a traditional self defense class, Let’s Talk: Women’s Personal Safety focuses on awareness, avoidance, and practical decision making. Participants will learn strategies for recognizing warning signs, increasing situational awareness, reducing risk in everyday settings, and developing personal safety habits that can be applied at home, at work, while traveling, and throughout their communities.
The event is open to women of all ages and backgrounds and will include:
- Practical personal safety education
- Interactive discussion and Q&A
- Community resources
- Complimentary lunch
- Giveaways
- Free parking
“Our goal is to help women feel informed and prepared while strengthening community connections,” said Tasha Plaza, Founder of Prime Legacy Security. “Safety education is one of the most effective tools we can provide because it helps people recognize risks before situations escalate.”
Admission is free; however, registration is required as seating is limited. Attendees will receive additional registration instructions prior to the event. Register Here
