About Us

ITAVFoundation is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference in the inner-city community of Philadelphia and Jamaica. Our mission is to increase access to quality education and support vulnerable communities affected by social issues.

Back 2 School Day

We’re dedicated to ensuring no child is left behind and that families and teachers receive the support they need. Your generous contribution will directly impact the lives of countless children, empowering them with the tools they need to thrive academically and personally.

Teen Pregnancy Education

By investing in teen pregnancy education, we’re not just preventing unwanted pregnancies—we’re also promoting positive outcomes for teens and their families, breaking down barriers to success, and building stronger, healthier communities for generations to come.

World AIDS Day

ITAVFoundation World AIDS Day Youth Concert is an event dedicated to bridging the gap between youths and adults in their approach to realistic and comprehensive sex education through creative arts. Our concert aims to empower youth with accurate information about positive sex education and encourage early detection through rapid testing and counseling.

Are you a teen parent in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia Teen Parent Support Survey

We want to hear from you. ITAVFoundation is conducting a Teen Parent Support Survey to better understand the needs of young mothers and fathers in our community.

Maternal Support & Education

Maternal health and wellness are essential components of a thriving community, yet disparities persist, particularly among black, LGBTQ+ and immigrant populations. Recognizing this critical need, ITAVFoundation is committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by expectant individuals and veteran parents in the Philadelphia Tri-State Community.

Maternal Support and Education Day aims to provide comprehensive support, resources, and education to expectant individuals, with a strong emphasis on black, LGBTQ+ and immigrant maternal wellness. Through informative workshops, access to essential resources, and a day of community pampering, we seek to empower expectant individuals to make informed decisions about their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

Our primary objectives for Maternal Support and Education Day are threefold:

  • Education and Empowerment: To provide expectant individuals, especially teen parents, LGBTQ+ parents, black women, and women of color, with the knowledge and tools they need to prioritize their maternal health and wellness, make informed decisions, and advocate for themselves during their maternal journey.
  • Supporting Birthworkers and Minority Birthing Centers: To offer support and assistance to local birthworkers and minority birthing centers, recognizing their crucial role in providing culturally competent care and support to expectant individuals in our community.
  • Community Pampering and Self-Love: To create a day of community pampering as a token of appreciation for expectant individuals, promoting self-love and body positivity during this transformative time in their lives.

In addition to the comprehensive support, education, and community pampering offered during Maternal Support and Education Day, we are also excited to announce that we will be hosting a community baby shower. This baby shower will provide an opportunity for expectant individuals and veteran parents to come together in celebration of new life and parenthood.

At the community baby shower, attendees can expect free diapers, wipes, and postpartum care packages and a joyful atmosphere to connect with fellow parents and caregivers. We aim to create a welcoming space where expectant individuals feel supported and celebrated as they prepare for the arrival of their little ones.

Furthermore, the community baby shower will serve as another avenue for us to provide essential resources and support to families, ensuring that they have everything they need to welcome their new addition with confidence and joy. From baby essentials to parenting resources, we strive to make this event a memorable and uplifting experience for all who attend.

By including a community baby shower as part of Maternal Support and Education Day, we hope to reinforce our commitment to supporting expectant individuals and veteran parents throughout their maternal journey, from pregnancy to parenthood. We believe that every family deserves to feel supported and celebrated as they embark on this transformative and beautiful chapter of their lives.

We're On A Mission To

Plant The Seed

To nurture the growth and creativity of our youths and young adults. Through this initiative, we empower them to explore and express themselves through various forms of artistic expression, including dancing, poetry, creative writing, music, and visual arts.

Through our commitment to nurturing the talents and aspirations of young individuals, we recognize that education is a cornerstone of personal development, extending to every member of our community, including immigrants.

Join Us in Making a Difference: Supporting Philadelphia's Public Schools!

The Philadelphia public school system faces significant challenges due to chronic underfunding. Teachers are often left to bridge the gap by spending their own money on classroom supplies. On average, 3.5 million educators nationwide are shelling out at least $500 annually out of their pockets to ensure their students have the tools they need to learn and succeed.

Our goal is simple: to give 1000 school bags full of supplies to students who need them. This will help teachers and families by making sure every child has what they need for school.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference.

What Your Donation Supports:

  • School bags filled with essential supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, and more.
  • Support a classroom: Providing supplies to teachers who often dip into their own pockets to provide for their classrooms.
  • Empowerment of students by ensuring they have the tools needed to excel in their education.
