Press Release: ITAVFoundation and GUCDII Announce 2024 Operation Turkey in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA — ITAVFoundation, in partnership with GUCDII, is excited to announce the 2024 Philadelphia Operation Turkey events. Since 2018, this partnership has provided over 10,000 Thanksgiving meals to underserved individuals and families across the Philadelphia area, working to ensure that no one goes hungry during the holiday season. This year’s efforts will include two community events on November 27 and November 28 at The Common Place, located at 5736 Chester Ave, Philadelphia, PA.

Operation Turkey is a nationwide initiative committed to providing Thanksgiving meals to those experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. With a team of dedicated volunteers and community leaders, ITAVFoundation and GUCDII continue to make a profound impact on Philadelphia through this annual service.

2024 Philadelphia Operation Turkey Events

  • Philadelphia Turkey Tailgate 2024
    Date: November 27, 2024
    Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
    Location: The Common Place, 5736 Chester Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143
    This event kicks off Thanksgiving preparations, including prepping, cleaning and assembling care packages for distribution on Thanksgiving Day. Donations for care packages will also be accepted during this time.

  • Philadelphia Operation Turkey 2024
    Date: November 28, 2024
    Time: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
    Location: The Common Place, 5736 Chester Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143
    On Thanksgiving Day, volunteers will gather to prepare, package, and deliver hot meals to the homeless and less fortunate across the Philadelphia area.

Community members and organizations are encouraged to register as volunteers to ensure a seamless, impactful event. Volunteers will receive informational emails with event details to guide them through their roles in both meal preparation and delivery.
